Just watched the 2015 Elite Eight win over Notre Dame. What a game. So many guys stepped up when they had to. You can tell the pressure was getting to Cal. Was it too much to expect UK to survive Notre Dame AND Wisconsin? Maybe. Who else has ever faced back-to-back defensive challenges like that? Maybe Louisville in 1983 (and they lost the second one, too).

I noticed Ulis in the game at the end. Wish Booker had maintained his confidence. Towns was amazing.

I think we may have had 1/2 - 50/50 calls go our way. All the rest went to Wisconsin. Very one sided officiating, plus all the pressure of 40-0. Also, the revenge factor for Wisconsin from year prior.

Yeah I recall real well , first of all I got heckled worse during that game than any I’ve ever attended , was setting on the 2nd row of the upper .. you get in a fight you may go over … secondly we were soooooooo much better than them , to nearly lose to that team that was so under manned was writing on the wall for the FF .. cal choked , players felt the pressure.

Yeah, we trailed for most of that game & then made a nice comeback to take a 4 point lead with 3-4 min to play. Instead of using our superior talent & depth advantages to bury them, we tried to run out the clock & had 2 shot clock violations in a row & on our next possession we ran down the clock yet again & had Harrison throw up a wild shot to beat the shot clock.

Three consecutive empty possessions in crunch time. Granted, Wisconsin got away with a clear shot clock violation that wasn’t called & it tied the game. But, we allowed them to dictate the pace & control the game & then shit our pants in the last 2 minutes. Should’ve never been in that position to begin with.

I was close to punching some ND fans at that game. They were mocking our program, and talking shit the whole game. I don’t want to hear that crap. Then the game ended and they are like “you have a great team blah blah blah”. It’s no different than playing against a valor Christian or an LCA. Those guys go hard they’re dirty, cuss, talk shit then the game ends and the coach says “do you want to pray with us”! The only way thing I say to their benefit is they always want to pray win or lose but during the game it’s win at all costs. I never realized how disgusting nd fans were until that game.

We lost it because of our coach pure and simple. He had a team to run Wisconsin into the ground but played their style in true cal fashion letting the opponent dictate the pace. If pitino had that team no one would have gotten within 10 of us in the tournament. Cal brought in the players I give him that but he did an awful job coaching them for title. Cal is happy with his 38-0 record. He’s probably happier about that than if he lost a game and won a title

It's damn fun to re-watch knowing it has a happy ending. A great game, ND played their asses off.

Agree. Could really tell the pressure of going undefeated was really effecting the entire team. Wcs defense in the final seconds was amazing to behold. In truth we should've lost that game.

The dude heckling me was not even a hard core ND fan , he was throwing the most stupid insults at Cal and UK , Cal pays players , UK players cant even read , and just stupid stuff , but he was persistent , just mocking everything about Kentucky . I've attended 1000s of events , never been as mad as that but I didnt want to spend an evening in the Cleveland jail and miss any of the 2nd half . Dude disappeared before I could go after him at the buzzer .

I felt the opposite when it was over. In 2012 we survived the Louisville game and all that pressure and you just kind of knew we would be much looser against Kansas. I thought the same way after the Notre Dame game. They had us on the ropes multiple times.
