Alabama Will Be Hard to Beat This Year (edited)

The lost that one dude to Kansas. Holloway played for Auburn.
Correct and Omoruyi Rutgers. But point remains Nate is rolling with great college players that aren’t huge NBA guys. No one expected Miller to pop quite like he did so he’s the exception at this point.

Oats is an utter joke (and a dirtbag) and will be a one hit wonder.
He’s already made a final 4, I thought he had another but that was Porter Moser. He came from Buffalo. If he keeps recruiting like he is and putting out these offenses he will make more. Honestly that Brandon Miller team should have probably made one but it didn’t have the chemistry after the shooting stuff.

How many coaches have won the title recently that's going through divorce or been through divorce? Asking for a friend from the NRA?

Oats is a POS that didn't even get a sniff for our job. That’s why he rushed out and removed his name to save face. LOL at anybody touting that used carpet salesmen looking dirtbag. Yeah used carpet…..with dog sh*t stains all over it.

I'm more of a Wimp Sanderson guy, myself. He had some tough teams there. And of course, we should always remember the brotherhood of C.M. Newton right before the mighty WIMP era !

So let it be a good thing they're eating their Oats nowadays. I remember some great Alabama teams. I think more highly of all of those past Bama' teams than the Final Four team last year for them. Thoroughly dislikeable program being run there these days, IMHO.

But that's just my observation, backed up with sad facts as to why I have no respect for the program at Bama for basketball. NOT how to run a higher institution for ANY sport. I'm on the record.

I say we smoke them by 40+

bring them on

Go Big Blue !

They’ll be a challenge for anybody this year. They came within a game of winning the SEC last year and made a Final Four despite often getting killed in the paint because they didn’t have a true big man on defense. They fixed that problem completely by adding Omaruyi, who was one of the best defensive centers in the country the past couple of years, while keeping several of their most experienced perimeter players to complement a highly ranked recruiting class. No team is unbeatable in modern college basketball, but I think the people expecting them to collapse this year are going to be surprised.

Sears, Nelson, Holloway, Stephenson, Omayuri and some good freshmen. They will be hard to beat, but not unbeatable.
They are strong but an injury here and there could put a damper on the season. Especially if Sears gets hurt and he likes to drive the lane, so it’s a possibility. We have some dirty teams in conference.

There’s something rotten about the Alabama basketball culture. I expect Oates to abandon them for the NBA after this season.

Alabama is a sleeping basketball giant. They have the money (and that's the biggest factor nowadays) to keep getting bigtime recruits and coaches. Now, assembling all that talent still requires coaching and a bit of luck to win a championship. But, Bama has a lot of the pieces to make a move. A few very successful seasons and the NBA will be coming after Oates though. Will he ever make that jump?

Wish we got the whistle every other decent team gets. I'd understand if we shot 35 threes but only 24 and most of our shots came in cases where fouls could be called.

Alabama called for 12 fouls and shot 37 free throws, UNC Ash called for 22 fouls and shot 14 free throws

UK called for 14 fouls and shot 19 free throws , Wright State called for 12 fouls and shot 12 free throws

Some of that might be refs expect Bama off a final four to be dominant so if they miss it was probably a foul and us being picked 8th ...nah there is no excuse, its absurd we get called for more fouls at home against a mid major and Barnhart is the AD, do you damn job and do what it takes to get us at least good officiating at home.

As kentucky will always be a basketball school the Bama culture will always be a football power. The typical basketball player from Bama also plays football. Back in the 70s they were s power in basketball but it left with Leon Douglas.

You can kiss that thinking goodbye in the nil and portal age

Coaching matters a lot in basketball. Look at what Donovan did at Florida. A guy like Oats would do this at any school. He's gonna coach them like Hurley does UCONN. Yikes.
