After 2 Games , Willis is 3rd Leading Scorer, Shooting Better than 55% from 3

Yeah Willis will end up being around 42% shooter from there IMO and we joined over 40% by Ulis and a few others. Murray I think will be around 38% or so due to taking so many shots but he will have games like Booker did where he goes 5-7 and the like.

I think even more impressive is Briscoe leading us in rebounds but you're right. Ulis, poythress, Murray, Mulder and now we can rely on Willis consistently hopefully and Briscoe has turned himself into a threat outside as well. I'm pretty happy right now. Not to mention Humphreys and Skal can both step out and hit a long 2. It's going to open up driving lanes down the road for sure as we get more noticed and scouted and game planned for our shooters.

those numbers tell me we have a HUGE rebounding problem. I think Cal will end up going with I-saac Hump as starting center and Skal at power forward. I-saac has showed he can rebound in the time I've seen him. I'm kinda worried that Marcus Lee can continue to pull in 8 rebounds a game as he does now. You really need a double digit rebound guy to anchor a good team. Skal doesn't seem to be that type of rebounder. I'd go with Isaac. I think he can pull 10. He has some Jorts in him.

We have nobody but Willis above 30% from 3pt? That's not what I expected to see from this particular team. Murray is shooting 3pt's WORSE the Aaron Harrison. He is 3-15. Ulis is way off from his start from 3pt last year.
THE good thing is the game against duke comes with different rims. I'd bet the farm Murray hits everything he shoots like he did at the Nike Hoop Summit. I blame the rims at RUPP for the low %.

There's some real concern over Willis lately.

I'm awaiting "warriorUK" to reincarnate into "the Alaskan Warrior" in a thread soon.

88-51 rebounding advantage in two games, and you're telling us we have a huge rebounding problem? I don't get it.

Through three games it appears that this team is struggling to shoot the three. Yet we don't expect to be zoned? Cal admitted after the game against Albany that he hasn't worked on any zone offense yet? Good grief.

2 games regular season. 2 games exhibition. 2 + 2 = 4 on most planets.

But 2 + 2 = 3 games? Is that the new math where the answer don't matter as long as you can throw enough crap at the teacher to make them think you know what you are doing? I'm guessing that's the same line of crap you'll use to bash Cal again? It always made as much sense as you counting to 3. Or 4.

Just think his stubbornness will cost the team. He refused to watch film against Wisconsin with 38-0 and the perfect season on the line and look what happened. Refused to zone Uconn in 2014 when we had no chance to contain their guards in man and look what happened. Had no idea how to attack West Virginia's zone in 2010 and look what happened. Color me concerned that when Albany threw zone at us in the first game of the season we struggled against it. And to make things worse, Cal admitted in the post game that he hasn't worked on any zone offense yet. Compile that with the fact that Derek Willis (who has never played) is leading the team in three point percentage? Yes, I think its a bit of a concern.

You got yer "FAR CAL!" website started up yet? I mean, give it a rest. That's the biggest string of crap I've ever seen in one paragraph.

And we're supposed to give you any credibility after 2 + 2 = 3?

Yet, Cal is a Hall of Fame coach, and....you're not.

IMO this will be the best 3pt shooting team we've had in the Cal era. Murray had a bad night against NJIT. It happens. He's one of the best 3pt shooters in the SEC if not the whole country. Then Ulis and Willis will both shoot over 40% from down town as well. Briscoe looks like he's really worked on his shot. He wont shoot 40% but he's still a threat from 3. If Poy can shoot like he did those first 2 ex. games then we're almost unbeatable. But between Ulis, Murray, and Willis we have a really good 3pt shooting team.

You think Cal could start a 17-year-old who's playing about 20 pounds overweight at center and he'll trot out there and get double-digit rebounds?

That isn't happening.

The thing about this team and its rebounding is that the guards are ferocious. Tyler Ulis is fundamentally the best rebounder on the team. Murray and Briscoe are both extremely good rebounders. Those guys will go get it...and that's a change from the last two years, as the Harrisons (God love them) had no desire to rebound.

Willis leading the team in 3 pt shooting does not concern me. Go Cats!!

Guess the team didn't need to watch film

Guess not, since doing is better than watching. And, it seems like we knew this when we hired him and he's had the most successful run in decades:

This is how Calipari has coached for at least the last decade. Kentucky touches on its opponents in the days before a game with a series of walk-throughs in which the Wildcats’ scout team apes the upcoming opponent’s strategy. By the time Kentucky’s players watch film, they have already seen the opponent’s sets on the court, often several times. Even then, though, they aren’t looking for specific plays.

“You see the idea of their offense,” Kentucky guard Aaron Harrison said. “We don’t need to watch every single play. We need to know the options off each set they have. After that we just have to defend.”

Of course, the folks that aren't trying to tear the program down, such as yourself, knew this already.

Ulis and Murray will both at least hit in the high 30's. Briscoe has yet to show he can be a reasonable threat. Mulder doesn't look like he's gonna get a lot of time. Hopefully Poythress and Willis can hit in the mid 30's, we don't have enough of a sample size to make that a lock yet.

Im sorry, how did not watching the film turn out for us against Wisconsin again?

How many threads will CUT-Nuts derail with his Cal hate-fest? Same shit, different thread.

Stop baiting

Baiting? You do this crap in every thread. The thread could be titled "Barney got raped on live TV" yet somehow you would turn it into a coach cal/coach k comparison debate, your Wisconsin game-film debate, or you'll find another way to tell us all how Cal will never win another title. It's always the same crap. I don't care what the thread has been titled, it has no baring to you.

Yeah, not watching film was the only reason we lost. Wasted all that time walking through the Wisconsin sets instead of setting on their ass watching film. You must be one of them basketball super geniuses that thinks there is only one way to do things.

Did you get in on any of the "action" with the UL recruits? Thought maybe they made arrangement for their special fans such as yourself.

You guys enjoy the NIT and don't forget your shots.

Not a UL fan, but wasn't Cal in the NIT in 2013?

Get your crap out of here. You are definitely anti cal. To even question a coach that has been to 4 final fours, runner up, and a national championship while here is an absolute joke.

Yeah. Noel blew out his knee from walking through too many of FL offensive sets. Should have been watching girls on the pole like your boys. Of course, you'd blame that on film instead of a key injury like Noel. Takes a real basketball supercomputer to come up with that.

Not a Card fan? No Kentucky Fan would relentlessly trash the most successful coach we've had since the mid 70's. Maybe you worship Ratface and his flopping hoard. Maybe you can catch some spit when he's spewing on a ref tomorrow.

Oh yeah thats right, Noel blew his knee out leaving Cal with only 4 five-star players instead of 5 five-star players. Hell, how can anyone expect a coach to get a team to the ncaa tournament with only 4 five-star players? My bad….

It is your bad. That year had nothing to do with game film as you suggest merely from the context that you raise the topic.

Ok, let's get real. Your cover is blown. You've trashed Cal in a thread that has nothing to do with him. You do it again and again. Nobody here believes you give a damn about the Cats. So who is it? You all about Ratface? Maybe you support Moonpie and his traveling band of the Xerox diploma? Creepy Crean and the Hoosier Crawlies? Or maybe some pathetic mid major trying to feel good by trashing the most successful program in history?

CutNets exposed!

John Wooden didn't believe in much film for his team... Worked out okay for him. Cal has said many times he uses a lot of what Wooden did as a coach. They watch film, but not a lot. But the coaches watch plenty of film and they prepare accordingly.

People that keep bringing this up are just searching for reasons to rag on Cal IMO.

We've had one of the most successful basketball runs in awhile. Haters need to let it go. It makes you look stupid.
