Adou Thiero Comp

I'm sticking by Heshimu Evans. I remember evaluating him in the summer of 94 before he decided to go to Manhattan. So after watching film of Thiero I immediately thought of Evans. High energy guy but skinny and could knife through a defense. Of course Evans is a southpaw and that is a difference. It could be that our boy Adou will advance like Heshimu did. Lot of similarity.
Heshimu Evans was often called the Mandinka Warrior. Hopefully, Thiero can earn that moniker … !!

It looks like this kid is better than most people think. He could see some playing time this year.

He may have to play some given the roster size and lack of Guard depth, but like ORCAT indicated I think he could earn his bones in the seasons following this upcoming season.

I'd he keeps growing I can see him excel playing like Shawn Marion. Defense and fast break specialist.

It should help a lot in retaining these fringe like players. I think it helps keep guys like Collins & Ware that in the past would have probably left by now. The NIL money was not enough for Hopkins & Allen to stick around obviously, but that may be because the UK staff hinted they were not going to be a good fit long term for the program as far as a lot of playing time...so even money has its limitations when you factor in a player's pride.

That said, if I could make 100,000 a year to sit on UK's bench for 4 years vs. going to somewhere else for 1/3 of that money I would stay at UK.
Imagine if UK sells them on this.

$75,000 per year after taxes and NIL endorsements, for five years if they redshirt a season.

They're getting a free education and get to walk out of campus with $375,000 in post-tax earnings!

If I had a third of a million dollars after college, it would have given me a massive advantage while trying to find a job. Instead, I was $32,000 in college debt and had to slop around for a few years making around $30,000 a year.

I imagine UK is selling NIL well but five years to most kids sounds like an eternity.

True, but clearing almost $400,000 in this economy for guys in that Dom Hawkins/Derek Willis category looks pretty good.

honestly, I wouldn’t trade that kind of journey for a third of million dollars. Good on ya mate.

2nd hand looks weird on top of the ball but he still manages excellent rotation on his shot so….
