A dig at Cal on NBA Draft - Cason Wallace

I would like to be a GM of a new franchise in this years draft class, WITHOUT a top 2 pick. IMO you have to go French Freak and Miller 1 & 2.
I don't see a lot of different after those 2. Yeah Henderson and the Thompson twins have a lot of positives, but they can't shoot. And everyone on here says how important that shooting is.
So with a new franchise, so lots of open spots, I would trade that #3 (or later) pick down, and down again, and again, until I had like 8 late first and early 2nd round picks. And then take guys like Oscar, & Brown, & Nelson, & Prosper, Sheppard, Podzeimski, & Vukcevik. Some of them won't pan out, but some will become good players. Some lottery picks also won't pan out, but teams will spend more on them, and be committed to them longer even if not performing.

Cason Wallace interview;

"I feel like Cal does a great job at preparing us for the next level, as far as putting in sets and using NBA terminology. They’re slept on, but they go pretty high in the draft, as well,” Wallace replied, turning the question around. “So, are they really slept on?”

Sometimes Cal makes it easy to dunk on Cal.
Even goofy Kenrick Perkins took a shot at Cal on NBA TV today. He and Richard Jefferson were demonstrating how a person guarding Joker should position his body if playing Joker one one one such as using forearm, one hand on hip, up tight, etc. Jefferson asked about a certain positioning that Anthony Davis had been using some. Perkins laughed and said he must have learned that from Calipari at Kentucky because he certainly didn't pick that up from an NBA coach.

So he’s been in the NBA 10 years and been all defensive team most years and a candidate for defensive POY and got it all from Cal?

That’s quite a compliment to Cal’s coaching.
