27 yr old DeAndre Williams of Memphis denied waiver for eligibility

College girls now aren't the same as they were even when I was in college and that wasn't THAT long ago. College campuses used to be fun, a place to learn about other cultures, but also a place to be have a little party before true adulthood. Now most of them are places where you have to walk on eggshells or you might run afoul of what ever culture whirlwind shifts that day. And i'm not exactly ultra-conservative.
I’m just thankful we didn’t have phones with cameras when I went to college.

I think he's only played like 3 1/2 years right? And he didn't transfer around to 3-4 schools, he was at Evansville and then straight to Memphis. Because of the academic stuff he wasn't able to start college until he was 21. Didn't get to play until he was 22 I think.

I wouldn't mind if he got another year personally, but I can 100% see why the NCAA denied his waiver.

No. He was at 3 schools. Also, he spent 1 year at Evansville and 3 years at Memphis. What is in question is that he spent a year at Juco before Evansville, maybe a half year there, but still, that 4-1/2 to 5 years in college. I don't think he played much at the junior college.

Good to finally see some pushback on this. He’s already been in college and played long enough. Can’t stay there forever, especially when you’re nearing the age of 30. At some point you’ve got to move on.

Am I allowed to agree that he shouldn’t have got a waiver? I want to make sure I follow your rules before I continue to post in your thread and so you don’t make fun of me for my perceived lack of intelligence. TIA
Good boy! Keep up the good work.

What’s your age limit for picking boogers and putting them on opposite fans because your fans do it. It’s pitiful!

This thread has some gold in it… some of you fellas are name dropping like crazy.

I remember Elliot Perry must have played at Memphis for 15-20 years or so… dude never left

Do you have a source for the JUCO? I haven't been able to find that anywhere. All I see is he was enrolled in the virtual highschool and was denied eligibilty to play in college until 2019. He was only enrolled in Evansville and played 18 total games. Then played 3 seasons at Memphis.

People are entitled to their own opinions but this guy busted his butt to get eligible after he was scammed with that virtual HS stuff.

He was working to help his family, while going to night school to get his HS diploma. Went through a season ending injury at Evansville and got a fresh start at Memphis.

He only played 3 seasons and 18 games. 4 seasons if you want to be technical. Even before covid most players who applied to play for their 5th year got it. With the covid year its pretty much been 100% except this apparently.

I wish I could say the same. You didn’t answer my question. Are you sure I’m the one with the intelligence issue?

If reading comprehension is something you struggle with there are some excellent programs out there. I’ve heard great things about reading rainbow and hooked on phonics.
