Are You Hoping for a UK/UT Final Four Matchup?

I for one, am not. Obviously we both have business to take care of, but would you rather have UVA or UT in the Final Four? Who do you like your chances better against? It’s been a great series this season. Both teams showed they’re capable of taking over the game on their respective courts, and...

All four ESPN experts pick UT to win Saturday

We aren’t as long as LSU, but Kyle Alexander is 6’ 11”

UK has played 5 ranked opponents since UT played a ranked opponent

We’ve been through this. You’re not allowed to count Louisville if we’re not. If you look at teams you’ve played who are currently in the top 25, you’re 3-2. We’re 2-1

Interesting Stats About Tennessee and Kentucky’s Last 10 SEC Games

So we shall. If Auburn shoots well, they can hang with anyone. They’ve struggled with shooting well recently, though.

Interesting Stats About Tennessee and Kentucky’s Last 10 SEC Games

If you don’t play good basketball, you can lose any night. Luckily, Tennessee has shown to be pretty consistent in playing good basketball. We’ve also been able to pull out wins the few times we have played poorly. That being said, sure, if we play bad, we can lose to either or both of those...

Interesting Stats About Tennessee and Kentucky’s Last 10 SEC Games

Do you really think we’re going to lose to Miss St and Auburn? I suppose it’s possible, but not likely.

Interesting Stats About Tennessee and Kentucky’s Last 10 SEC Games

Hate to tell you, but outside of Tennessee and Kentucky (and maybe LSU), there isn’t a “much tougher SEC slate.” There’s a couple rotten teams, and a bunch of mediocrity.

Interesting Stats About Tennessee and Kentucky’s Last 10 SEC Games

Your stats arent all that interesting. For example, you say you’re 5-1 vs ranked competition, while we’re 1-1....you get to count your win vs Louisville, but we don’t? Auburn? No longer ranked. Miss St? Not ranked. Truth is vs teams that are good (meaning they’re still ranked), we’re 1-1 and...

    Overrated Tennessee

Sounds like the most likely scenario. Either of these teams is capable of beating anyone on a given night, so you never really know what will happen.

Interesting Stats About Tennessee and Kentucky’s Last 10 SEC Games

Tennessee has won by double digits in 19 of their 23 games. I wouldn’t necessarily call that “continually struggling.”

Interesting Stats About Tennessee and Kentucky’s Last 10 SEC Games

For sure. But when you say things like “open your eyes!,” as the OP did, as if your stats prove something incontrovertible regarding the two teams, you invite a little quip.

Interesting Stats About Tennessee and Kentucky’s Last 10 SEC Games

Two good teams appear to be playing well. We’ll find out over the next three weeks if one is better than the other.

This is the truth. Any of these teams (and a few more if they got really hot) could win the Tournament.

What is it about Barnes’ coaching that you think prevents him from advancing far in the tournament? Scouting? Scheming? Adjustments? Motivation? Luck?

    Overrated Tennessee

I agree, though I think they were a 4 in TN’s bracket in the early committee seeding yesterday. They don’t really scare me, but I was surprised to see them so low.

    Overrated Tennessee

I’m not disagreeing with you. Though in reality the reason they jumped Nevada is because the voters simply think they’re better than Nevada. Human polls are 45% your resume, 45% eye test, and 10% bias.

    Overrated Tennessee

What if the lack of ranking was based solely on the incorrect perception of them heading into the season?
