    Everybody knew we had hired a superstar coach in 1989. I love Mark Pope and I’ll get fully behind this but it’s a big question mark as we sit right now.

    We were going after guys who had won recent national championships at their current schools. Those are always going to be tough to get. There were still plenty of coaches more accomplished than Mark Pope who would have come here in a heartbeat.
