I'll take a stab at a legit answer. Call me a sucker. I've been called much worse! 😂
We have a perimeter oriented team. No doubt. But we've got guys that don't necessarily NEED to shoot at range. They're called SHOT MAKERS for a reason. And they've shown that, proven that, already. So perhaps labelling them as a live by 3, die it team is not really what you've got. And that's a good thing, if you're looking for substance to believe in.
Cals teams here LACKED shot makers, by and large. So you must feel better at this point.
The team has got good size, good depth. I think the that will become more obvious as we play better opponents. We've got really good defensively minded players, proven at this level. So in a rock fight against, say the Vols.... Ask yourself :
Would you rather have Oweh and Butler & co. Or zz & Lanier ? I think we've got a good edge there. We shall see. And that doesn't mention Amare, Garrison, and Carr to body up when it gets physical, as it surely will against the SEC teams especially. We're built to withstand that rigor.
And I'm not going to go down a list further than that for players and skillets. Either you can see we can hold our own or not.
But I'll end with this :
We've got Coach Pope.
The other team doesn't.
That's worth at least a partridge in a peartree.
Or maybe you think Pearl, Oates, Barnes, or the other coaches (hint hint) are going to have their teams better prepared?

In short, there's a lot there to feel confident about. It's not rocket science.
And if Kentucky is that overrated at this point, considering UK was ranked #23 at the start of the season....
Either everyone now realizing they underrated UK to begin with, and they're overvaluing UK now, which seems to be where you're at....
Or
Just about everyone was wrong, and time is going to tell you all where this UK team is.
I'm feeling pretty good about how solid we are. And so are the rest of us here....
Just do yourself a favor and give up the doubt and fear, have some confidence and ... Enjoy the ride.
