What a stupid article. We're getting him.

While it may be just wild speculation.the article gives many good reasons why a visit would be delayed. if Murray is concerned about meeting and getting the "feel" for future teammates, it makes plenty of sense to delay the visit. When Murray says that he is not going to visit any other schools at any time, then I'm getting confident. until then.........(yawn)

I've been assuming that he didn't visit because he is finishing up his coursework. A few days ago MJ said he had 2 weeks left. Didn't take this news as positive or negative. If he ends up taking a visit, I will be a little worried though as they were reportedly at the scholly limit, which would mean they are making room, and he has been an Oregon-lead before we got involved.

It makes some interesting points but the guy is a "community blogger". He doesn't know anything more than we do. It kinda just read like a well thought out post on a message board.

He may indeed end up taking a courtesy visit...but he's not going to Oregon.

Were any of our current players on campus when Murray visited us recently? Don't think Murray is worried about who he'll be playing with as much as who he'll be playing for.

Lets see here. Go to Oregon and get to wear cool uniforms with awesome colors. Or come to UK, the greatest college program in history, and get all kinds of attention from media and fans, play in the spotlight, get your name out there, get more prepared for the NBA, get drafted higher, be treated like a rock star, be worshiped, oh yeah and be around rappers and hang out with porn stars. I mean yeah its a real tough decision for an 18 year old.

I thought Oregon was out of scholarships?

Also, the writer says that Oregon is an Elite Eight team without Murray, but I am not seeing them in anyone's top 10.

He says they are loaded, yet aside from Ennis and Dorsey, I don't recognize any of those names he listed.

Not trying to be an elitist jerk UK fan, but I can't see how you can compare UK's and Oregon's rosters and say that both are stacked.

UK is on a whole other level than Oregon.

I seriously doubt Oregon makes the Final Four even with Murray. Heck, they might not be in the top four of the PAC-12 with Cal landing Rabb and Brown and Zona, Utah, and UCLA being pretty strong.

And how many lottery picks has Altman produced?

The smart move is UK. Some of these kids make dumb decisions, though.

That's what struck me most when I read that blog too. How did he come up with Oregon being such a top team in the nation when they may end up possibly being 5th best in their own conference, if they're lucky? Am I really missing something here and UO has top level talent that I somehow missed out on? I mean, I know they aren't garbage but Elite 8 without Murray and Final Four and a chance at winning the national title with Murray? Someone please explain how he can justify such statements because I just don't see it.

My take on the Oregon Ducks is that before Jamal Murray hit his huge game in the Nike All-Star game and went for 30 points for the World team he was being recruited by Oregon for the 2016 Reccruting class. After Murray's huge game and all of his all-star games were big that is when the big schools started recruited Murray. At that time they were talking Kentucky, Duke, UNC, etc were all reaching out to him after the Nike game. That is when Oregon I believe took a back seat in the recruiting efforts for Jamal Murray and that is when Coach Cal went strong with his effort when Cal and Payne were in Canada and they visited Murray and Maker why they were in Canada. I believe when Coach Cal visited Murray in Canada and also when he made his official visit to Kentucky Coach Cal sold Murray on the reclassify to 2015, start at Kentucky and be in the top of the 2016 NBA Draft. Instead of waiting till 2016 recruiting class and then maybe going the route of Emmanuel Mudiay did with SMU and coming back to NBA. Also, right after the All-star game and big schools going strong after Murray and especially Kentucky with the visit is when Oregon went strong for pg Ennis from Villanova. I believe it is between UK and Oregon and with how things are playing out right now and Murray's talk about being at the top for the 2016 NBA Draft that we lead for Murray.

If Brown could pick Cal and Newman could pick MS ST, Murray could pick Oregon. It has gotten to the point with recruits, it doesn't really matter much what they say or what they do, making the most sense decision happens less as time goes on.

We have been used so much to build kids resumes and as host to show them what the biggest of the big looks like it is better to temper the excitement for our own good the best we can.

He goes on to say Final Four with Murray... they should try to get in the top 25 first....

Once again..why post stuff that isnt positive for us???? Jerry tipton syndrome

That's unfair, this is a valid post about a current recruit on a hot topic being discussed here. Besides, most of us are big boys, we can take it.

Why would he even consider Oregon? He is foolish to think that being a Point Guard in the NBA is the right move for him. He can learn to play the #3 where we need him. We have all the #1's that we need. Who knows he could make a good Swing Forward! Trust Cal...Don't go to another school just because you would be able to play the position that you want to play and that everyone is telling you to play. Play where Cal tells you to play!

Too obvious and poorly played on your behalf.

I know Altman did go to see Murray play on two separate occasions prior to Nike game. You are correct that Oregon was after him early, but then he blew up at the Nike game and the recruiting chaged.

So who was on campus for us when he visited other than the coaches ?

because the article wasn't complimentary to UK? What is really negative about this? The words? Because it seems like most posters think it's positive for UK? But if it isn't positive, - Honey, it can't always be sunshine and roses. We discuss it all here.

Or maybe he can get experience as a shooter from the wing, which is his biggest strength, on a winning team where he will get tons of exposure (see Devin Booker) and still have the opportunity to be a passer/playmaker from that spot when needed. Maybe he realizes that he's the perfect compliment to what we've already got in the backcourt with Ulis and Briscoe. There are tons of point forwards and shoot first point guards playing in the NBA right now... hell, there are two shoot first point guards playing against each other in the NBA Finals. If you can ball, you can ball, sometimes you really don't need to have a defined role if you're a jack of all trades type.

And I would say that it's worked out well for a lot of guys who have "played where Cal tells them to play." Certainly a lot better than "play where Bill Self tells them to play."

My point is we have posters that like to be first in teporting unfavorable news.....such as the Pelican Cal deal the very day Murray was on his visit. ...how could anyone think that was a positive for us???

In this case and with Malik Newman, the biggest concern would be Dana Altman or Ben Howland saying 'play where you want to play'.
