DENG ADEL - Victory Rock Prep (Bradenton, FL); 2015 SF; 6'-7"; 185; 4-Star; 247Sports rank 32; 7/14/2014 committed to Louisville - 12/23/2014 lost to Northfield Mount Hermon Prep (Mt Hermon, MA) 61 - 62; FG 7/14; 3's 0/0; FT 3/4; Reb 8; PF 1; TP 17; A 2; TO 1; Blk 0; Stl 0 - This was the only game Victory Rock played. Athletic and long. Passes well while penetrating. A 6'-1" kid and 6'-3" kid took turns guarding him. Sees the floor really well with PG instincts. I like his game a lot, but don't look forward to seeing him against the Cats.

MALIK BEASLEY - St [/B]Francis [/B](Alpharetta, GA); 2015 SG; 6'-4"; 185; 4-Star; 247Sports rank 40; 9/5/2014 Committed to Florida State - 12/19/2014 beat Florida Air Academy (Melbourne, FL) 65 - 50; FG 7/11; 3's 1/2; FT 4/5; Reb 5; PF 0; TP 19; A 3; TO 3; Bk 0; Stl 2; Min 31:33 - Very fast to the hoop. Quick. Assistant coach said he is a great kid and very polite. Had sophomore running the point, but Beasley and Kobi Simmons make a great back-court combo.
12/20/2014 lost to Montverde Academy (Montverde, FL) - 59 - 62; FG 8/16; 3's 3/6; FT 6/7; Reb 7; PF 2; TP 25; A 2; TO 3; Bk 1; Stl 1; Min 29:59 - Runs the floor hard. Pushes the ball. Nice looking J. Hit some big shots at the end of the game.
12/22/2014 beat Oak Ridge (Orlando, FL) with Antonio Blakeney 85 - 75; ; FG 5/18; 3's 0/0; FT 6/6; Reb 8; PF 3; TP 16; A 2; TO 2; Bk 0; Stl 1; Min 31:43 - Decent job guarding Antonio Blakeney, limiting his outside shot opportunities. Again this game he showed his quickness, but did not shoot particularly well. Hit a 3 from behind the circle. Running out on the break, made a top 10 slam on a lob from Simmons.
12/23/2014 beat Paul VI (Fairfax, FA) 77 - 60; FG 4/8; 3's 0/2; FT 1/2; Reb 1; PF 2; TP 9; A 5; TO 4; Bk 0; Stl 1; Min 26:41 - I didn't make many notes about this game. After 32 games in the past 5 days, I just wanted to watch and enjoy.
Made All-Tournament Team.

NOAH DICKERSON [/B]- Montverde Academy[/B] (Montverde, FL); 2015 PF; 6'-8"; 245; 4-Star; 247Sports rank 56; 8/17/2014 committed to Florida after de-committing from Georgetown earlier - Did not dress at City of Palms due to injured foot.

FRANKLIN HOWARD [/B]- Paul VI Catholic[/B] (Fairfax, VA); 2015 SG; 6'-4"; 185; 4-Star; 247Sports rank 77; 4/14/2014 committed to Syracuse - 12/20/2014 lost to Wheeler (Marietta, GA) 52 - 55 - FG 5/15; 3's 0/6; FT 6/10; Reb 5; PF 4; TP 16; A 5; TO 4; Bk 0; Stl 3;
Min 30:40 -
12/22/2014 beat in OT Mater Dei (Santa Ana, CA) with Rex Pflueger 57 - 56 - FG 4/18; 3's 3/9; FT 2/7; Reb 13; PF 3; TP 13; A 6; TO 7; Bk 0; Stl 0; Min 36:26 - I have never understood why someone who wants to go to the NBA would spend their college years playing zone in Syracuse, but the Orange is getting a good one in Howard. Based on what I am seeing, I would rank him higher than 77th, but hey, I'm no basketball genius. Listed at 6'4", but seems
taller. Drives and dishes nicely. Not shooting well, but runs the point.
12/23/2014 lost to St Francis (Alpharetta, GA) with Kobi Simmons & Malik Beasley 60 - 77 - FG 6/13; 3's 1/5; FT 3/4; Reb 2; PF 2; TP 16; A 3; TO 4; Bk 0; Stl 1; Min 26:55 - I enjoyed watching him play and can't believe he wants to go to Syracuse. Sees the floor, passes, shoots. Wants to wear Orange? I didn't make many notes about this game. After 32 games in the past 5 days, I just wanted to watch and enjoy.
Made All-Tournament Team.

DERRICK JONES [/B]- Archbishop Carroll (Radnor, PA); 2015 PG; 6'-6"; 180; 4-Star; 247Sports rank 41; 11/13/2014 committed to UNLV - 12/18/2014 lost to Oak Ridge (Orlando, FL) with Antonio Blakeney 66 - 67; FG 6/11; 3's 1/1; FT 2/4; Reb 7; PF 1; TP 15; A 0;TO 1; Blk 3; Stl 0; Min 31:33 - Plays tall; good leaper; didn't show a lot this game; plays a team game; should have taken advantage of being guarded by a 6'-4" Antonio Blakeney; very athletic.
12/19/2014 - Lost to Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, CA) with Cody Riley 55 - 59; FG 5/13; 3's 0/2; FT 5/9; Reb 9: PF 3; TP 15; A 2; TO 1; Blk 1; Stl 2; Min 29:53 - With the game starting at 10:25AM after yesterday's game, both teams looked a little tired. Made a monster dunk, but the more I see Derrick the less I like him as a UK player. I have no information, but believe UK probably thought the same and backed off recruiting him. Just doesn't show any take-charge.
12/22/2014 - Beat Florida Air Academy (Melbourne, FL) 77 - 52; FG 6/12; 3's 0/2; FT 0/2; Reb 12: PF 1; TP 12; A 2; TO 1; Blk 0; Stl 2; Min 25:29 - I don't know if it Derrick or the Archbishop Carroll style of play, but he just doesn't seem to get involved much. Extremely athletic. Won the Dunk Contest here, as he does at almost every other venue. Typically gets several rebound dunks and did so again today. Might be a better college player than high school if UNLV coach can get him more involved and if he shows more hunger.

DORAL MOORE[/B] - Montverde
Academy (Montverde, FL); 2015 C; 7'-0"; 220; 4-Star; 247Sports rank 60 - Committed
to Wake Forest 5/13/2014 - 12/19/2014 beat Wayne (Huber Heights, OH) 64 - 59; ;
FG 0/0; 3's 0/0; FT 1/2; Reb 1; PF 1; TP 1; A 0; TO 1; Bk 0; Stl 0; Min 1:30 -
In a standing position, Doral looks as if he is an athlete, but he rarely
played and is a HUGE project for Wake Forest.
12/20/2014 beat St Francis (Alpharetta, GA) 62 - 59; ; FG 1/7; 3's 0/0; FT 1/2; Reb 3; PF 2; TP 3; A 0; TO 1; Bk 0; Stl 0; Min 12:37 - Thank goodness he is going to Montverde and can get some good coaching from Kevin Boyle. PROJECT!
12/22/2014 beat Trinity (Louisville, KY) 52 - 42; ; FG 1/2; 3's 0/0; FT 0/0; Reb 0; PF 1; TP 2; A 0; TO 0; Bk 0; Stl 0; Min 6:46 - Nothing to report about Moore.
2/23/2014 lost championship to Wheeler (Marietta, GA) 72 - 65; ; FG 0/0; 3's 0/0; FT 1/2; Reb
0; PF 1; TP 1; A 0; TO 0; Bk 0; Stl 0; Min 3:32 - Nothing to say about Moore. Montverde won City of Palms the past two years.

REX PFLUEGER - Mater [/B]Dei [/B](Santa Ana, CA); 2015 SG; 6'-5"; 185; 4-Star; 247Sports rank 112; 9/11/2014 committed to Notre Dame - 12/19/2014 beat Webster Groves (MO) 65 - 46 - FG 7/11; 3's 2/6; FT 0/4; Reb 5; PF 1; TP 16; A 4; TO 3; Bk 2; Stl 1; Min 22:38 - Saw
him knock down 30-something at the HoopHall Classic last January. He can really shoot and now as a senior he is taking charge of the offense and is not afraid to rebound. Have no idea how he was 0/4 free throws this game.
12/20/2014 lost Wesleyan Christian (High Point, NC) with Harry Giles 62 - 67 - FG 8/20; 3's 3/8; FT 7/8; Reb 5; PF 3; TP 26; A 4; TO 0; Bk 0; Stl 2; Min 32:00 - Mater Dei's 1st loss in
around 47 games. The 2nd half started off as the Rex show, hitting tough shots, rebounding, assists, and controlling his team.
12/22/2014 lost in OT to Paul VI (Fairfax, VA) 56 - 57 - FG 5/15; 3's 1/6; FT 1/3; Reb 5; PF 4; TP 12; A 2; TO 0; Bk 1; Stl 2; Min 34:37 - This was not at all the Rex Pflueger I have seen before. He was almost reluctant to shoot, and it's not as if his teammates were knocking them down. Missed a very makeable drive down the middle as time ran out in OT. Very makeable!
Made All-Tournament Team.

BEN SIMMONS - [/B]Montverde Academy [/B](Montverde, FL) - 2015 SF; 6'-8"; 220; 5-Star; 247Sports rank 1; 10/14/2013 committed to LSU. 12/19/2014 beat Wayne (Huber Heights, OH) 64 - 59; ; FG 9/17; 3's 0/2; FT 6/10; Reb 10; PF 2; TP 24; A 4; TO 3; Bk 1; Stl 5; Min 32:00 - Talked to a Montverde assistant coach about Ben who said he is a great kid and very humble. #1 senior in the country is "humble"? Must be the Australian in him.
12/20/2014 beat St Francis (Alpharetta, GA) 62 - 59; ; FG 13/24; 3's 0/2; FT 11/13; Reb 18; PF 3; TP 37; A 2; TO 3; Bk 0; Stl 2; Min 32:00 - Simmons does it all! No-look passes. Rebounds. Steals. Aware of where everyone is on the court. Picked up his dribble near the foul line, threw it off the board, caught the rebound and slammed! Was he playing H-O-R-S-E? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xjjccjNUbIU Calm & cool. Gonna love/hate seeing him next year at LSU.
12/22/2014 beat Trinity (Louisville, KY) 52 - 42; ; FG 6/11; 3's 1/3; FT 3/5; Reb 7; PF 2; TP
16; A 4; TO 2; Bk 2; Stl 4; Min 32:00 -
12/23/2014 lost championship to Wheeler (Marietta, GA) 72 - 65; ; FG 11/17; 3's 0/2; FT 6/8;
Reb 11; PF 3; TP 28; A 1; TO 1; Bk 0; Stl 2; Min 31:57 - Great game with Wheeler defeating Montverde, winner of City of Palms the past two years. Couldn't ask much more from Simmons than he gave today going against Jaylen Brown. Wheeler played better as a team than Montverde. Montverde's center is 7'-4" who had no business trying to keep up with the pace of the game and was lifted early. They then went to their 7'-0" backup center who was not in long. Going small, Kevin Boyle inserted 6'-9" freshman E. J. Montgomery - a Tayshaun Prince look alike. However, the game and championship belonged to Jaylen Brown.
Made All-Tournament Team

RAYMOND SPALDING[/B] - Trinity H. S. ([/B]Louisville, KY); 2015 PF; 6'-9"; 200; 4-Star; 247Sports rank 38; 7/24/2014 committed to Louisville - 12/18/2014 beat Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, CA) with Cody Riley 70 - 59; FG 5/6; 3's 0/0; FT 2/5; Reb 6; PF 4; TP 12; A 0; TO 4; Blk 3; Stl 1; Min 19:22 - 2nd foul early in 2nd qtr; nice touch; seemed to have slow feet on defense away from the basket; not a strong poster; runs well; made some bad passes; not a take-charge guy; seemed passive most of the game.
12/20/2014 beat Oak Ridge (Orlando, FL) with Alex Owens 62 - 57; FG 4/15; 3's 0/3; FT 4/8; Reb 10; PF 3; TP 12; A 1; TO 1; Blk 3; Stl 2; Min 28:38 - Played better this game. Ran the floor. Nice 12' jump shot and more aggressive to the hoop, but plays too soft.
12/22/2014 lost to Montverde Academy (Montverde, FL) with Ben Simmons 42 - 52; FG 3/6; 3's 0/0; FT 2/7; Reb 12; PF 1; TP 8; A 0; TO 6; Blk 2; Stl 2; Min 31:36 - Although he got 12 boards, he is absolutely no match against Ben Simmons. Not sure Rick can bring out some
aggressiveness from Spalding.
12/23/2014 lost to Wesleyan Christian (High Point, NC) with Harry Giles 47 - 51; FG 4/11; 3's 0/0; FT 0/0; Reb 9; PF 3; TP 8; A 1; TO 2; Blk 2; Stl 1; Min 27:09 - After facing Ben Simmons yesterday, Raymond has to go up against Harry Giles today. With no place to hide, he was
totally dominated. I didn't make many notes about this game. After 32 games in the past 5 days, I just wanted to watch and enjoy.
