With spring practice officially behind us CatsPause.com takes a
position-by-position look at the UK football roster. The series starts
with a look at the Kentucky offensive line.

Probable starters if season opened today: LT Cole Mosier (6-6, 344, Sr.)

Spring standout: Last spring offensive coordinator Jon Toth
among the most improved offensive players on the team but said he still
had room to grow into a high-caliber SEC player. A year later it
appears Toth is close to fulfilling that potential after earning raves
throughout spring practice. Count new offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson
among his fans. "The mental part of the game with him I think is
awesome," Dawson said. "Not to say that the other part isn't, but that
position with us, we need a guy that understands what's going on and
gets all those guys on the same page, because we take that off the
quarterback and that's all on him and I think he's more than capable of
doing that."

Other returning offensive linemen: OG David Baumer (6-5, 307, RFr.), C Dylan Greenberg (6-2, 308, So.), OG Nick Richardson (6-4, 283, RFr.), C/OG Jervontius "Bunchy" Stallings (6-3, 344, RFr.)

Newcomer to watch: On signing day George Asafo-Adjei
(6-5, 314, Fr.) could be the rare offensive lineman to play immediately
as a freshman. After enrolling a semester early at UK Asafo-Adjei did
nothing to diminish that hype this spring. Listed at 6-foot-5, 315
pounds, Asafo-Adjei already looks the part of a SEC lineman, and the
staff reports he is one of the strongest players currently on the team.
In the last week of practice Stoops all but guaranteed Asafo-Adjei would
play this fall, noting "he certainly appears to me to be one of the top
five, six, seven guys on the o-line."

Other 2015 signees: Levon Livingston (6-7, 250, Fr.), Logan Stenberg (6-6, 330, Fr.), Calvin Taylor (6-9, 260, Fr.), Mason Wolfe (6-6, 325, Fr.)

Question mark: While walk-on Cole Mosier
was playing with the first-team offense in the final scrimmage of
spring, right tackle remains an open competition heading into the
summer. In addition to Mosier, who played both guard spots in 2014,
sophomore Josh Krok was slowed this spring by injury but could also factor in the competition when healthy.

Fall outlook: Kentucky will boast plenty of experience on
the offensive line this fall but there is still a fair amount of
turnover to contend with. With Darrian Miller gone, Jordan Swindle
must successfully make the move from right tackle to left tackle. As
noted above, Swindle's replacement at right tackle is far from set. The
good news is depth should be an asset on the line for the time in the
Stoops era. "Two years ago the starting five, there might have been a
spot in there by default," offensive line coach John Schlarman
said. "That's the only guy we could have put in there. Now I feel like
there's competition for all five spots. So that's going to make
everybody better."

i think gaa will end up starting at right tackle. just too freaky not to get him on the field asap.

I'm super excited to see how the offensive line works as a unit this year. I hope I'm not too let down, because I'm expecting some improvement there this season. In order to have a great offense you have to have a quality offensive line.

First time in a long time (maybe ever). We actually have a starting 5 and a full second team backup that CAN compete in SEC !!!!!personally, I thought that was the nightlight of the spring scrimmage...the o-line really stood out
