Regarding Transfer Portal Closing

Does the entire portal close on May 1 or is it just entrance stops being allowed on the May 1?

From my reading and understanding, it appears players just have to enter the portal by the first, which would be less time pressure on Donovan. It doesn't indicate they have to have transfered to a team by then.

If that's the case, it would seem we could wait a little longer on Donovan if he is indeed interested.

Knowing Billy Donovan was the coach at Kentucky would possibly persuade more players to enter the portal. That is the issue with waiting.
