We used the rules below when making predictions. I published the results after the game in a post on the thread. You could put any comment you liked below your score prediction (putting '***' after your prediction to make it easier to separate the comments) but you all tried not to put anything above your prediction since then you'd be depending on my skill as a programmer for your prediction to count.
The rules were simple. Whoever predicted the correct winner with the score closest to the actual score won. The method of determining your score was to take the absolute value of the difference of your guess of the Kentucky score and the actual plus the absolute value of the difference of your guess of the opponent's score and the actual. You didn't have to have the correct winner to make the list but there was a penalty of the worst score of those who picked the correct winner. In case of a tie, the tiebreaker was used. In case of a tie in the tiebreaker, we had more than one winner.
I awarded points for the first 10 places and including a bonus of 3 additional points for making a perfect prediction. I tracked cumulative point totals and the number of games you made the top 10. This contest ended after Kentucky's bowl season which was darn short.
Your post should have looked something really close to what is between the lines below. You mostly remembered the ":"s and the word "Tiebreaker:"! Most of you did not!! use a "-" as a separator because some of our tiebreakers could be negative, although some were oblivious to the end.
The last week's tiebreaker was Total Game Interceptions.

Kentucky: 17
Louisville: 28
Tiebreaker: 4
You could have just cut and pasted everything between the lines above into your reply and then modifed the scores and tiebreaker as you saw fit. If you didn't know how to do that, you had to type very carefully and remember to type in the word "Tiebreaker:" so that I could find it. Anything my scripts couldn't figure out did not count.
You couldn't edit your post or try to post a score after the game had started.
BTW I really would have preferred exact names for the teams, but whenever we played Louisville, I made an effort to accept any name you could think of that was not obscene.
To copy and paste, move the cursor to the first character you want to copy and then left click and hold the mouse and move the cursor to the last character you want to copy while holding the left mouse button. Release the left mouse button. The text you want to copy will be highlighted. Move the cursor inside the highlighted area, then right click the mouse. A pulldown menu will appear. Select the "copy" tab. In the message frame of your post, right click the mouse. A pulldown menu will appear. Select "paste" and the copied text should appear.
