Needs to be stronger and assert himself. Can run the floor and rebound, but seems to play shorter than his height. Doesn't go after the ball like he really wants it. Too controlled and no nasty.
12/20/2014 lost to Wesleyan Christian (High Point, NC) with Harry Giles 62 - 67 - FG 3/12; 3's 1/1; FT 1/2; Reb 9; PF 3; TP 8; A 2; TO 1; Bk 0; Stl 2; Min 30:32 - Going against Harry Giles, MJ was more physical than I have seen him in the past. However, Giles just ate him up. Unless there is huge improvement in his game, he is just not physical and hungry enough to be nothing more than a 4-year player at a less than top-25 team. I hope I'm wrong, because he seems like a good kid.
12/22/2014 lost in OT to Paul VI (Fairfax, VA) 56 - 57 - FG 5/14; 3's 0/0; FT 0/0; Reb 13; PF 3; TP 10; A 4; TO 4; Bk 5; Stl 1; Min 30:10 - Same kind of game as the previous two. Just doesn't seem to want it enough. I hope that changes for him later this year or his senior year.
