-First half(16 games): 11 for 19(57.9%). Yes, you see it. 19 free throws in 48 minutes. In 7 games UK didnt take a single free throw to close out the half. That's nearly half their games.

Breakdown for the 1st half is:
-0 attempts against Duquesne, MSU, SCSU, Bellarmine, Mizz, UL, and USCjr.
- 1 attempt against Gonzaga, UCLA, and Yale.
- 2 attempts against UNF, TAMU, Bama, and LSU
- 4 attempts against UM and Howard

* It doesn't actually get any better in the last 3 minutes of the 2nd half. UK just doesn't create enough FT attempts to end games.

-Second half(16 games): 20 for 32. That's 62.5%. In that, 9 for 12 of that is against SCSU, FAMU, Duquense, Howard, UL, UNF, Bellarmine. Those are the worst teams on the schedule(UK shot no free throws to end 2nd half against Yale). That means against the rest of the schedule UK is 11 for 20 in the last 3 minutes of the 2nd half. 55%

- In the Overtime game, in the 1st OT Kentucky was 2-4 in the final 2:06. Toppin hit 2 free throws near the beginning of the 1st OT. Kentucky was 1-2 in the 2nd OT. Collins went 1 for 2 from the line when the game was basically over.

- Combined in the last 3 minutes of each half Kentucky is 31 for 51 from the foul line. That's 60.8% on top of not creating enough trips to the free throw line to end the halves.

Individual FT shooting in 2nd half/OT/2ndOT. Jacob Toppin leads the way. Wallace and Wheeler can't be trusted so far(duh).

- Toppin: 10 for 10
- Wheeler: 2 for 7(0-2 in 1st half).
- Wallace: 1 for 4(0 for 3 in the first half).

- For the season Kentucky is only averaging 17.8 free throws per game and only making 65.6% of them. UK is 11th in the SEC in FTA. Only USC, LSU, and Vandy take less.

Awesome research. We are almost always terrible at the FT line and we are always terrible the last 5/7 minutes before half and end of game. Cal constantly gets beat badly in those two junctures of the game. IMO, the most important segments. 🤦‍♂️

What does that even mean? They always count.
When people used to complain about missing free throws, JVC was very dismissive of the complaint and said we always make them when they count. He was claiming that they were clutch free throw makers. Just another lie from the lips of John Vincent Calipari.

Good data, would be good to include front end of 1&1s.

Kentucky today:

1st half: 4-4(Toppin 2-2 and Reeves 2-2)
2nd half: 5-6(Oscar 1-2, Toppin 2-2, and Reeves 2-2)

Kentucky created 10 free throw opportunities today and made 9.

BIG stat today!!

Another biggie, I know Antonio had a couple of late turnovers but Fred and Threeves both forced into action proving they can play together at the same time.

Finally, toughness and defense. Where's it been?? Knoxville I guess.
