UK’s athletic department is one of the few in the country that are actually self-sustaining. He is paid a salary by the university like every other UK employee, a smaller base salary, and gets most of his income through incentives thru athletic department related stuff like his talk show, Nike contracts , other media related stuff and things like that. Base salary is only likely $300-400k with $8+Million in other stuff
Yeah...wild to think that he's not the highest paid, but he isn't. State institution. It's all public record you can look it up. Pretty sure there are assistants, professors, and other university admin making more than him salary wise.

Yes , UK has researchers that make $750K + ….but it’s all university money . Coaches money is very little UK and mostly AD money . Every UK employee is a state employee, so coaches get some salary …also their insurance, pension and stuff comes out like any employee
