Is that not a goaltend. He was dunking the ball over the rim and got it blocked. Does it have to be out of his hands?

I believe so, yes. I’ll admit I don’t know what the rulebook says on that but, logically, you haven’t really shot the ball yet until at leaves your hands.

Yes. See the 1998 national semifinal when Padgett was blocked similarly on a dunk attempt. I think they called it out of bounds on Stanford, but no goaltend.

They also got away with slapping the backboard as we were shooting a layup.
