DeANDRE AYTON -
Balboa City
(San
Diego, CA) - 2017 C; 6'-11"; 220; 5-Star; 247Sports rank 1 and supposedly 100% Kansas - 12/21/2014 lost to Potter's House (Jacksonville, FL) with Udoka Azubuike 51 - 54; FG 11/17; 3's 0/1; FT 1/2; Reb 20; PF 3; TP 23; A 1; TO 0; Blk 2; Stl 4; Min 37:00 - Full page article in the City of Palms program about Ayton and how his team Providence (Bahamas) Storm beat UNC 84-83, with Ayton going for 17 and 18. Quick off his feet (Nerlens?). Looks for the quick outlet, looking down court before his feet hit the floor. Took 2 shots from the head of the circle, hitting one (not Nerlens). Seems to have high basketball IQ. Runs the floor. His team is not very talented and he should assert himself more and pass less. Only 2 points in 3rd and 2 in 4th.
12/23/2014 lost to
Danube City (Vienna, Austria) 50 – 57; FG 4/7; 3’s 0/04; FT 4/8; Reb 5; PF 2;
TP 12; A 1; TO 2; Blk 3; Stl 2; Min 23:40 – Danube City is a good team
consisting of high school age kids, but they aren’t good enough to beat many of
the teams at City of Palms.
Unfortunately, Balboa City is not a good “team.” They had not 3-point shooters and had trouble
getting the ball inside to Ayton.
However, Ayton did not post big and give a good target to pass to. He plays team-ball, passing too often to a
team lacking in talent. I would like to
see this #1 player in the 2017 class go somewhere he can get coaching and develop
his potential which, at this point, seems unlimited.

Made All-Tournament
Team.
