Well, UK had a big time advantage in the first inning, but they failed to score. Barrett grounded out to start the inning. White then hit a single and Tom reached on an error by second. Shelby then walked, but not without a bit of controversy because on a 3-1 count he seemingly grounded into a 5-3 double play, but the umpire at third called it foul. Hairston then took the first pitch he saw and ended up grounding into a 5-3 double play.

Bottom half went very well for UK though. 3 up and 3 down. However, Florida did have a bit of a bead on Beggs, getting the bat on the ball on all three batters.

Wow... UK strikes early in the second inning after the Florida starter, Dunning, hits 3 batters. He did get a strikeout, but a wild pitch on strike three put the batter on base. That stretch of pitching plated a run for UK and prompted a mound visit by Florida head coach. Then a wild pitch advanced everyone and put on another run for UK. For those keeping tabs, that's two runs on zero hits.

UK then gets a double from Evan White that scores two more runs to put UK up 4-0.

Kai Tom then took a walk and Florida has to go to the pen. Excellent for UK going forward in this game and the series!

Mildly interesting story: I was listening to the game on the SEC Network broadcast and in the first inning the Florida announcers were talking about how the Florida pitcher was not hitting his spots, but they were praising him because he could get strikeouts or outs without having to have a lot of control. I think this inning shows how wrong they were.

Florida is now down a third base coach after he argued with the third base umpire over a check swing called a strike.

The third base coach has not been a fan favorite for Florida this weekend and they have been showing him their lack of appreciation.

Beggs puts his first batter on base after hitting Tobias (3rd basemen) on the knee. Took several minutes for Tobias to get up. Beggs then gives up a base hit. Beggs is now a little shaken it seems as he walks the next batter on 4 straight balls. None of them all that close. 6 straight balls before Henderson takes a mound visit. A deep fly ball carried to the warning track before being hauled in and gives Florida their first run. They follow that up with another deep fly ball to cut the score in half. Ground out to short ends the inning and the damage. Not the response I personally wanted to see after UK gets a 4 run lead, but good that they limited the damage.

UK squandered a chance there. Had runners at first and third with no outs and after a wild pitch Shelby dances around at third and gets into a pickoff play and gets thrown out.

The inning went downhill after that. Still 4-2 going to the bottom of the 5th. Beggs still on the mound for UK, and doing well.

Well, I was kind of wondering why Henderson was going with Fettes instead of Arnold in this one, but Fettes put the doubt to bed as he hits a home run in the top of the 6th. Connor Heady then follows it up with another ROUND TRIPPER! BACK TO BACK HOME RUNS!!!!! 6-2 UK!!

Bernal with a trading places RBI double to give UK a 7-2 lead with 2 outs in the top of the 7th!!! Well played Bernie!

Scary... gators have bases loaded with two outs down 7-3 in the bottom of the 9th. Cody on the mound.

OMG, we have no bullpen, if they had blown that game Dustin Beggs should file a law suit. But, we have taken the series from the Gators ......again. Cats now 25-16 on the season, and now 10-9 in the SEC.

Be great to get the sweep tomorrow...Need all the wins we can get to make sec tourney and to get good resume for ncaa tourney play...

Watched the last half inning on ESPN - 3 on computer, Gators announcers said this was the first home SEC series that Florida lost the first two games in nine years. Pretty impressive.

Wow. That is pretty amazing. Great wins by the CATS the past two days!

Hopefully we sweep'em up tomorrow!

Yea I thought Henderson may have not needed to go to the pen but it worked out. Price said something about this being UKs 8th win out of the last 11 against Florida
