UK goes for the series win today @ 2:00 pm at the Cliff. Cats will turn to Dustin Beggs on the bump today against John Cohen's Bulldogs.
Speaking of Cohen, our former skipper, with the win last night, UK is now 7-6 against their former coach, who left UK after the 2008 season to return home to Starkville.

Cohen has done pretty good there, but he has not really compiled an outstanding record overall. He is winning just under 60 percent of his games, and 44 percent of SEC games. Henderson is winning about 56 percent of his games and 42 percent of his SEC games. Neither of them really blowing it out of the water in terms of winning percentage. Compare that to someone like Corbin, who has won 67 percent of his games overall and 66 percent of his SEC games. Cohen did pretty darn good here, but he hasn't really stepped up his game while at MSU, other than having one outstanding post season where they finished runner up in the CWS.

I wonder if he ever thinks 'Maybe I should've stayed at UK' ......Nah ! probably not.

Who are these guys this weekend? Now up 8-3 in the bottom of the 7th. Hitting the ball very well and doing a pretty solid job on the mound as well.

UK took a 9-3 lead to the 9th, gave up 4 runs, but held on to win 9-7 and take the series. Little exciting there at the end, but a win is a win.

Well, I am not sure what happened there at the end, but we really have to stop giving up big innings, especially our bullpen. Nonetheless, we got the win and we took our first SEC series of the year. That is huge for this team. Maybe we just need to continue to have no faith in them and bad mouth Henderson and they will play better? lol

What a surprising turn-around, won't be complete until we sweep and get back to .500. LSU and Texas AM are the next two SEC series so there are no rest for the Cats. This is why it is important to go to those 6 games at 3-3 instead of 2-4. It seems our starting pitching is the difference in the turn-around.Timely hitting in this series is also a big difference than vs South Carolina.
