I really like the new lineup. I've been concerned about PG, in particular, since last year; but that's not the biggest improvement. It started in the LSU game where I thought they played a very physical game. That blew apart in Tuscaloosa - and the tragedy with SC gave a lot of us some serious pain.
But the last three games - UT at K-town, Georgia and A&M at home - they a playing more like a team, I think. There were a couple of plays in the first half today that reminded me of the way the Celtics of the late 1980s used to play - penetration and passing that led to an easy bucket underneath. If Cal keeps coaching these kids into a team that doesn't need quite so much coaching...one that plays with confidence and without hesitation - they'll be a very strong team. We dug a hole, but getting out of it only means playing the way we thought this team could play.
So, I'm optimistic.
