    The two things that concern me about Bruce is that he is playing in a bandbox and with his power should be hitting 30+ HR's in his sleep. Also I just don't ever see him hitting for a high average consistently with that long looping swing. I must admit I would rather have 7-8 guys at bat on this...

    I think of all the points that PTI made in this thread, the most telling is Bruce's inability to hit lefthanded pitching. I don't care how old he is, the kid looks like he has never faced a lefty in his life. Until he figures out to hit a southpaw, he will be a very average major league player...

    There are a WHOLE lot of things I can't do but one of them isn't running. As a former sprinter I can still pick them up and put them down even as an old man. And like others have said, Bruce could spare to lose a few pounds and isn't exactly a speed demon. Now could I stay with Chris Dickerson...

    Or haven't watched too many games with Griffey and Dunn in the outfield. The bullpen has improved but to say the Reds aren't DRAMATICALLY better defensively in the outfield is borderline INSANE!

    You are correct. Until Bruce corrects his swing, he will continue to K at an alarming pace and I don't care how old he is.     I agree, nothing bothers me more than a big league player misplaying a fly ball or missing a cutoff man. Dunn's defense was even more magnified when Griffey played because you basically had 2 corner outfielders who covered absolutely no ground and routinely played would be outs into basehits...
